My dear Lisa, love of my life

I passed the green bronze statue

Of the mermaid wet with flow

From the conch shell she was holding,

She glistened in the glow.

Her slender arms and tapered back

Were  just as yours had been

In the season of full bloom

When beauty stood pristine.

For in my adoring mind

Though time might strain to wither

My love for you has grown

And this image ever lingered.
